My name is Arnav Agarwal and before taking HL Maths I have done IGCSE standard Math and IGCSE Additional Maths at UWC. I usually associate a feeling of excitement when I am doing maths, as I am excited to solve a problem in whatever way I can. Having said that, I am feeling quite nervous at the start of this course, given that there is so much content to learn and the questions at look impossibly hard. At first I like to work things out for myself, although when the problem is too difficult, I like having someone explain it to me. So that, I can try more of the same questions to get better. Whenever I get stuck in mathematics I try solving the question again from scratch just to make sure I am not making a careless mistake. And if I can still not to do it, I try looking for examples in the book. Although I am a critical thinker as I try to find some way of doing a question in front of me. However, I would like to work on sticking with a problem longer while still being able to do it under timed conditions and I would like to work on is being organised so that I practice my concepts regularly.
