I decided to start learning piano again in grade 11 through the ITP program offered in school. It was really fun to start learning it again and I always looked forward to it. However, there were times when I couldn’t master a song or get a particular stave that I just couldn’t get right and had to sit for a long time at my piano and keep repeating the hand movement to retain it in my muscle memory. Being able to conquer these difficulties kept me motivated to keep going every time I hit an obstacle. My piano teacher also helped me stay motivated whenever I would find a part difficult by slowly playing it with me and showing me how to do it over and over again. Her patient approach also helped me stay motivated when I found some songs to be difficult.
