Being a member of Tabitha GC, allowed me to understand the issue in Cambodia of the difficulty that Native Cambodian people face in living a comfortable life. Most importantly the discrimination that women face who were involved in the sex trade because of the lack of money in their family. Tabitha NGO helps these women get back into society and live a meaningful and respectful life. This problem faced by Cambodian women from poor financial background is also faced many women from the same background around the world. Learning about this issue and the way Tabitha helps them has been an enriching experience and has further raised my awareness of this issue. One way that we directly support them is by selling products made by these women to the UWC community and the money from these products helps support them and provide them with a job. This issue has really made me realize the struggles that people have to go through in their everyday life.
