I had my first drama lesson yesterday, and we did a lot of exercises and games to help us connect as an ensemble and to start getting back into the movements. At first, I didn’t understand the significance of the activities we were doing – how could throwing sticks at each other possibly help us? But then as Ms Parr started to explain a bit more, I understood that it was about focus, and helping each other. In Drama, you can’t work by yourself. You have to be a team player – and I think that was shown in the games Ms Parr chose for us. This year, I’m really excited to work with new people and learn some of the dramatic skills and techniques to enhance a performance.

I hope that, by the end of the next two years, I will look back on drama and remember the fun I had, the things I learnt, and think about how this course will help me both in the IB and (possibly) even further into the future.
