Macbeth

‘Lady Macbeth’s criminal mind and desire for ruthlessness have led many a critic to define her as evil. Closer examination, however, reveals that she is a multifaceted character.’

In my opinion, I agree with this statement as throughout the play I have developed a deeper understanding of Lady Macbeth. Definitely at the start of the play I only saw Lady Macbeth as a criminal who was so keen to become queen, showing how ruthless she is and how ambition trumps everything in her mind. Towards the start of the book she said “ art not without ambition, but without The illness should attend it” Act 1 scene 5.  This is right after Lady Macbeth has read Macbeth’s letter telling her what the witches were saying, instantly after this she overjoyed that she may become Queen and Macbeth may become King, but at the same time she was worried that Macbeth is to Kind to murder Duncan. The importance of this scene is just showing how masculine Lady Macbeth truly is. Most of all women in Scotland at this time never knew and were told about murder, so we are instantly seeing a strong women character at the start of the play who we can tell is very unfeminine.

Science reflection

I feel a little bit disappointed with my score. However, I didn’t do a lot of studying for the test so I think that its a fair reflection on the amount of studying I did. Next time I need to make sure to read the questions properly in order to cut out silly mistakes. For example, reading Ion and atom. Looking forward and preparing for my next exams I need to make sure that I do a more in-depth review of the topics we have studied. I think that with more studying I could aim for a 6 because I feel like I had a good general and basic understanding but with more studying, I will be able to have a more in-depth understanding.

Personal statement

Throughout this school year, I have learnt a lot about myself. At the beginning of the year, I set some goals for myself. One of my goals was to try and get into the U16 A team for football. I surpassed my expectation by making the U19 SEASAC team. Throughout the football season, I learnt a lot about myself and I feel like I was able to learn a lot and gain a lot of experience from the more experienced boys in the team and as well as playing with them in several tournaments. Looking back on the whole experience there is a lot I can take from it and will be able to use in my future football. I believe it is important for children to learn about the world we live in and the people in it. This is why I chose the service ‘Urban Gardening’ in season 3 and 4. I am very glad that I signed up for this service because I have taken away so much from it. Not only has it taught me to have a green thumb and to do all I can to help take care of our planet, but it has also taught me the importance of interacting with the environment we live in. We take from our world every day, we should learn how to give back too. We rely on the resources we take from the earth so we should protect it as much as possible. I believe that everybody should be able to feel a connection with nature and feel closer to the heart of our planet. Overall I have enjoyed my activities and service throughout the year at UWC. I have learnt a lot through both of my activities, I have built on my leadership skills along with building on my knowledge and awareness of the environment we live in. Taking part in extracurricular activities has really built on my collaborative skills. I think that these skills and qualities that I have developed throughout this fantastic grade 9 year will benefit me in grade 10 and in IB.
