Final Reflection for my 18-month commitment

Overall as CAS comes to an end it is good to be able to sit and reflect on the commitment as a whole, overall this commitment has abled me to show perseverance and keep positive through the pandemic with restrictions, a positive outlook and thinking as a team and individually helped us keep motivated and train hard through the restrictions, although we are yet to play a competitive game the restrictions have been lifted and full matches can be played again. Overall I have enjoyed this experience and it has helped me grow as an athlete and individual.

My 18-month commitment, to football

So far at the beginning of the season, it has been tough for football, especially here in Singapore as covid restrictions are still in place, however, it has been a good experience to meet new players from outside a school environment and mix with a new community, in addition, it has been good to get a different perspective on coaching at the highest level in Singapore. Although the restrictions are in place we are still able to remain positive and hope that they are going to be lifted for sports soon. I believe that it is still very important to keep a positive mood with the team and have a positive view on the situation.

CAS Project reflection

Through my CAS project, I planned a summer coaching camp for children here at school with Chelsea, through the project I planned diverse and varied sessions. It was an enlightening experience to see the progression of the players in various age groups. There were some challenges with the process such as the changing restrictions with covid 19 which made the planning of sessions very difficult at times as they had to be adapted to the changing rules.

Service final reflection

The year was service was an experience to remember as it helped me broaden my horizons of the world outside our privileged community even in Singapore and allowed me to give back to the community through my passion and hobby of football. I really enjoyed coaching children as it allowed me to take initiative and experience new situations. Below is the link to the planning doc for the service as well as a screenshot of some of the reflections from the group.
