Episode 16 & 17 ears for east podcast reflection

Listening to this podcast I have learnt many things. Firstly that the circuit breaker has been very effective in terms of lowering the numbers in the local community. I believe that this circuit breaker has been very effective, it isn’t a perfect system but Singapore has done a great job. Even though people may not be happy staying inside as they don’t get to socialize and meet with people, however, it is important to adapt so that we can care for our community as a whole. Singapore is a very technologically advanced country and I believe that we are better off here as compared to some other countries in the world.

In terms of foreign worker dormitories, the cases are definitely spiking up. This may be primarily because of overlooking their conditions. However, I do believe that the government is doing a commendable job on helping them by providing them with their personal needs, medicine and food. Even though there may be some light shed on the inequalities between the foreign workers and the general local population, I believe that the migrant workers are now getting proper attention that is needed.

To summarise, I learnt that we all have to do our part in staying inside in order to help Singapore face COVID-19 as a whole. I believe that the government has done a great job in taking this approach and that we are all very lucky to be living in Singapore as the approach that is taken is very effective. Personally I believe that is we all do our part, stay home and adapt to technical problems or just adapt to the situation as a whole we would be able to conquer COVID-19 together.

Questions I still have:

  • How will all of this look after the circuit breaker is over? How will we maintain our progress and prevent a third wave from happening?
