Initial Reflection

Before my first meeting with my supervisor, I made sure to research relevant fundamental principles in textbooks and online, so that I had a better understanding of my topic leading to a more constructive discussion. I quickly learnt that to investigate my initial research question, the experimental setup required would be difficult to achieve and so accuracy would be compromised as it would be difficult to keep other variables constant, especially ensuring laminar flow in the testing liquid, due to various practical problems. Therefore, my supervisor suggested that I focus on creating an accurate set-up to minimize such errors and also find or create a correct liquid container that will allow for the relationship between depth and upthrust on the gas, accounting for some disruptions in flow, to be seen. This then allows me to spend a lot of time conducting test trials and revising my set up so that my final data will be viable.
