After my first reflective meeting with my EE Supervisor, these are a few things I thought about:
I looked at my research question again and compared it to my outline with my supervisor, and realised my outline was not appropriate for the question I had chosen. We had a conversation about what I wanted my essay to communicate, and what best reflected that; my outline or my question. After this conversation, I decided that the outline best represented my intentions with the essay, and therefore I needed to change the wording of my question to better suit this intention. This was where the challenge arose, but I overcame this by seeking assistance from my supervisor. Together, we brainstormed a few slightly reworded questions. The main outcome of this reflective conversation was to indulge in more research to make my question concrete and correlate with my intentions with the essay.
HI Snigdha,
Thanks for posting your reflection. I am curious to know what your next steps will be. Will you be conducting any research? If so, what are you hoping to find? Do let me or your supervisor know if you have any questions.
In future, please place the word count of your reflection in brackets at the end of your paragraph.
Good luck!

Hi Snigdha, thank you for your reflection. I can see that you’re beginning to see the EE process no longer as a linear concept but more as a cyclical process where your RQ and main body of your essay are inter-related. This is a key aspect of the EE assessment criteria where there must be a focus on the research question throughout. Now that you have identified a more concrete plan towards how you will structure your essay, what resources have you used?
