Paper 1: Hostesses Unafraid!

This was our class’s first guided analysis paper 1 and during the entire process, I found it extremely challenging. I received good feedback such as linking the characterization of the woman to the product. For the next paper, I will try to unpack the language of written text further as I now know it can make a driving point on analysis. I will provide meaning and justification behind the observations I have made. I will avoid sweeping generalizations and state more specific statements that encapsulate society in a particular context or time period. I will focus on the substance of my ideas rather than covering a wide range of points and not elaborating on them. I will also try to incorporate literary elements such as lexical choices and my prior knowledge in a way that does not take the focus away from what we are analyzing.

As of now, my focus is not gaining 7s in all my subjects, rather, enjoying them and seeing how I could apply them to real-life scenarios. In terms of Lang and Lit, I have become more articulate in expressing my thoughts and perceptive in viewing the world. Overall, it was a good exercise that allowed me to practice my analytical and inferential skills.
