1. Adichie believes that the definition of feminism is different then the definition of what feminism really is. She addresses feminism as a solution to the gender problem, rather than just a female one. She also believes that the modern problem of gender inequality still exist even though the modern consensus is that the problem has be solved, due to increase opportunity for woman etc.
2. Her definition does not align with my perfectly, however I believe that her perspective or aim does. In my opinion it is impossible to achieve complete gender equality due to biological constraints. An example of this would be in sports which is solely based off physical features. This means in sports, the divisions will always be separated by gender/sex which could lead to issues such as unequal pay due to the economics of sporting events. I agree with her perspective on how gender inequality affects both side and we can start by teaching our children differently.
3. Adichie claim “culture does not make people, people make culture” suggest that the issue with gender stereotypes or issues are not what “culture” or tradition dictate, but rather human nature to create that culture. This means that in order to combat the gender inequality in our culture or tradition, we as a human race have the power to create/modify this culture.
