Due to COVID-19, there was a lot of uncertainty regarding the regulation in placed, since in Singapore, the regulations are changing almost every 3-2 months. Furthermore, some events may have different rules. Because of this, the student voice committee really wanted the grade 11 traditional prom event to continue regardless of COVID-19. We set up a special committee to research and plan the annual event, and our goal was to ensure the event does not cancelled, and at worse was postponed.
Although at the time of writing this reflection, the future is still unclear I felt that being part of the special committee meant that responsibility was taken and required planning. Currently we were planning the venue based of price & restriction. Communication was key as we were working in a group, and during the planning phase, each member must do their part, or the plan might fall short. We created a document with the list of venues and each venue was given to an individual. I had to email and plan out the implications of my venue and report back to the committee. We will continue to plan for the actual event, and at this moment, we have started planning the venue. As the COVID-19 restrictions change, I hope to plan accordingly and adapt to the situation.
The screenshots shows our planning doc in terms of researching the different venues. Some planning was done in real life which I had actively engaged and contributed my findings.
