Goals for improving emotional intelligence.

1. Don’t seek perfection

I feel like I always try to make everything perfect, even if doing so may not be strictly possible. Not striving to make everything perfect could help me appreciate what I have actually finished, and help me move on and focus on other tasks. I believe that this could be especially true for me since I tend to get distracted by even the smallest imperfections, and sometimes what has happened previously impairs my ability to concentrate on other tasks. If I stop trying to seek perfection I think I can work better and appreciate my work more.

2. Disconnect

Right now I feel like I spend almost all of my time connected to some kind of digital device, whether it is for studying or for leisure. I think that if I did take some time to disconnect, even just a for a short while, it could help me relieve some stress and forget about other pressing tasks, helping me to relax more, and only really stress about tasks when necessary.

3. Get enough sleep

I think that currently, I could improve on getting more sleep, and sleeping at more regular times. While I feel that I do understand the importance of sleep, sometimes other tasks may distract me from actually sleeping at relatively normal times. In the future, I hope to be able to make sleep a priority.
