Activity reflection: Basketball #1 mens league

Entering my second year in Varsity basketball, I was definitely looking forward to men’s league, it was a big difference from playing with kids my age. Most people would tend to think men’s league is full of old, slow, fat men who used to play basketball when they were my age. However, in this men’s league, it was way different. Our men’s league consisted of multiple guys who were still crazy strong, athletic and could run our butts off the gym given the chance. This only excited me as it was another high-level competition which would allow us to improve loads as a team(and as a player).

Our men’s league season has only been around halfway done, we played six games and have only won two of them. With half our seniors graduated, the team was looking new. We had much younger guys and finally a few guys my age. I personally still found our team to be strong, as were able to maintain most of our starting five from the year before. The men’s league experience this year has been a great learning opportunity, having new guys I didn’t know would push my collaboration and communication skills as I’d have to learn to come out of my shy personality and talk to them. Being someone who was new last year, I could sympathize with them.
