I book that I have read recently and really enjoyed was called ‘The Rosie Project’ by Graeme Simsion. This book follows the journey of a man who embarks on a quest to find a wife. The main character, Don Thilman decides that in order to find the perfect wife he will utilise a questionnaire that potential candidates must complete in order to determine if they meet his requirements. He then meets Rosie, who completely disrupts his obsessively organised life. The story progresses to follow the development of Don Thilman who struggles in social situations. I really enjoyed this book as it was written in such a way that implicitly alludes to the fact that Don Thilman is on the spectrum. The way the book is written portrays Don Thilman to have aspergers however it is not the main focus of the book. This book is also based around DNA and science as Don attempts to help Rosie discover who her biological father is.
I particularly enjoyed this book as it was different to what I normally choose to read. I have not read many books purely for enjoyment in the past year and so I enjoyed simply reading because I wanted to and not for the sake of taking notes!
