We have now had four rehearsals and have finished learning the partner dance. In order to do this dance properly we had to collaborate with out partners to ensure that we knew what we were doing. It was difficult to work together at first because I didn’t really know my partner and it was a bit awkward. However after a few rehearsals we are now comfortable working together and are working on perfecting the dance. Collaborating as a whole dance was another challenge we faced as not everyone could make rehearsal times. We then spent time working on formations to make our dance more interesting. We had to make sure to work together and help each other as if one person messed up the formation it would affect the whole dance. I am now becoming more confident in my dancing skills as well as my partner. Since the show is getting closer we have to start rehearsing in costume and also in the space in which the final performance will be held. We also had to try out stage lighting (a quite tedious process) in which we have to stand in our positions repeatedly until the lights have been decided.
