My Language World

What I chose to add to the map were things that I thought I knew a bit about, or at least had some personal experience with. The topic of Standard English and such was more on opinion more than anything, so I decided just to get what I learnt in class and from what I thought to write it down.

I feel that doing this project really opened me up to different opinions or facts about the stuff we know, and how it affects all of us, whether we are directly involved or not.

And of course, here is the map linked below

The Emoji. Love it or Hate it

The emoji is something we have all used before, whether on a chat with friends or parents, or just being plain silly.

We live with them, the first emoji came out around 2️⃣0️⃣ years ago and started as a dis-communicated form of talking (This was because there was no standard for them, and all phone companies had a different emoji for each character. This would mean that if you typed the emoji for cake, you might get a whale instead.

Unicode came in and set standards as to what each emoji WAS (But they could not regulate the design of each, so they are all subtly different)

Which is my favourite? Well I’ll have to go easy and say 🇪🇸 as obviously, it’s where I’m from, and there isn’t any harm in putting some patriotism on the table (Though of course, this applies to any flag.)
