My personal favourite speakers of the writer’s fortnight “experience” was easily Mukul Deva. he carried himself with this exuberant almost childlike experience and he seemed to really know and understand not only who he was doing, but what his audience wanted from him. It seemed like the things that we were learning were actually going to be useful for us and our writing journey. We also worked on a story together, and he really made his presentation and talk interactive where we were really a part of it. I also thought it was extremely impressive how honest he was, especially during the Q+A when he was answering questions about companies turning his books into movies. “Once they’ve given me the money, it really doesn’t matter to me.” he said, laughing. I respected him and his books so much after that, as he seemed very truthful and almost anti-UWC.
