In this lesson, I learnt about different types of news articles (hard news, feature articles and op-eds). I have heard of all of these types of articles before but I never really understood the differences between them all. This lesson made me question my previous learning because I never thought of how the three types of articles were different. I also never thought about how the authors can use emotions from the event to help further their point/opinion. This lesson has inspired me to look at different types of articles because they all have different opinions/facts that may or may not be biased. I now also know that when I read an article, I need to make sure that it isn’t biased. I am still a little bit unsure of the difference between a feature article and an op-ed.
