Microbiomes

Here are 2 videos by Kurzgesagt, and 3 videos by Crashcourse. I think both of these channels are very useful for learning many things. Here’s my compilation of youtube videos that are useful for the B1- Characteristics of Cells unit.

  1. How Bacteria Rule Over Your Body — The Microbiome
    1. This video talks about how the bacteria in your body reacts to what you eat, and what causes dietary addictions
  2. How To Cure Aging — During Your Lifetime?
    1. This video talks about what causes aging, as well as what needs to happen in order to stop it, or even reverse it
  3. Plant Cells: Crash Course Biology #6
    1. Gives an overview of the plant cells and their functions
  4. In Da Club – Membranes & Transport: Crash Course Biology #5
    1. Shows how cells are able to transport things through their cell membranes, and why membranes can be semipermeable
  5. ATP & Respiration: Crash Course Biology #7

ATL Reflection

For this first term, I think I managed to do pretty well regarding my ATL’s. I got pretty much all clears except for a few strongs and somes. My self-management I thought was something that couldn’t really be shown in too many places, so I’m not surprised that I got an average turnout for that section. My communication varied a bit, between some and strong, and I think that had to do with my teachers. I usually listen without looking at the teacher. The teachers who know me definitely are able to tell that I am still listening, as they know how I approach learning. The new teachers, on the other hand, don’t really know how I listen in class so they think I am not paying attention when really I am. My collaboration was by far the most different out of the rest of the ATL’s. I think the reason why it was so different was due to a lot of different reasons, be it me wanting to work independently on an independent project or me not participating as much as I am meant to be participating. Overall, I want to work on being able to participate more in group work and expressing my ideas verbally.
