WF 2020 Reflection

    • What past learning have you applied in this project?
  1. I incorporated writing techniques I’ve learnt in the past and in other classes. Because this article is focused more on informing the audience, I avoided including my own opinion and concentrated the writing on analysing the information which I had.
    • What new learning have you gained?
  2. I’ve learnt very much over the several weeks we spent working on this, especially from Hanna Alkaf. The second time she spoke to us, she talked about how to make a good piece of writing. The little tips and details she mentioned had really helped me look into my writing and make it more interesting for the reader. I feel that it helped me to write more effectively.
    • What new connections have you made because of the feedback given to you?
  3. After writing my first draft, I sent the article to my parents for feedback. They told me that the writing didn’t connect enough to the reader. I found that this was quite helpful as it showed me something that I was unaware of as the writer.
    • What mark would you give yourself for effort? Which ATL was most effective?
  4. In terms of ATLs, I would say that my collaboration was the strongest point. This is because I shared information and notes with my classmates in order to gain more evidence and tips from multiple people. This helped me get different perspectives on what my article should be about and how I can improve it. I would give myself a 4 in terms of effort because I did struggle to manage my time when planning and writing the article. I feel that even though I had enough notes to write the article, I did not plan the article very well before beginning to write.
    • What attainment mark would you give your article? Discuss the reasons why.
    • I would give it a 4. This is because I don’t feel that this is my best piece of writing, as I mentioned earlier, due to the lack of planning, however, I do feel that I’ve improved on writing non-fiction. Writing articles, in general, is relatively new to me and it did take a lot of new learning to understand how an article should be written. I believe I could do better, especially if I organised my work better.
