Let me introduce my favourite hobby that I have pursued since childhood. That passion is speedcubing: the sport in which a speedcuber attempts to solve a Rubik’s Cube as fast as possible. It started more of like a casual hobby, as knowing how to solve a cube is a pretty cool skill. However, my inner competitiveness pushed me to improve constantly over the next 6 years. And that is what I did. I became a continental level speedcuber in various events. I can say that speedcubing is one of my strengths, and it’s also an area that I can continue to improve on while enjoying the experience (LO#1).
Because of this undying passion for the hobby/sport, I didn’t think twice about joining the Rubik’s Cube Club. I saw the activity in the list of the school’s activities and immediately committed to the experience (LO#4). In the club, I also made a close friend due to the passion that we share for the hobby. In each session, we always share our ideas about cubing, and I discovered new concepts and skills as a result of our collaboration (LO#5). I plan to continue this experience for the entirety of grade 11 and hopefully continue to improve my skills.
