Daniel Bennett: (Special Guest) A Life Time of the Beautiful Game: the Ups and Downs of being a Professional Footballer

Daniel Bennett is a professional footballer for Singapore, born in England but came to Singapore at the age of 2. He went to UWCSEA Dover campus in 1996. His farther was the headmaster at Dover campus. After collage he was asked to play in Singapore initially he thought he was just going to move on and find a job, he played for Singapore for a while and was then offered a to play on a division 1 football team. He later was offered to come back to Singapore and play football in exchange for the Singapore passport. He is currently at the age of 41 and has played football for 20 years. He does not play to represent to Singapore. He is looking for other carrier options, for example he decided to become a real estate agent and managed to get a licensed to become one, he also tried to become a P.E teacher at UWCSEA Dover and East but didn’t enjoy it too much so he decided to give up that profession. He also believes that people think being a football player doesn’t count as a real job as it’s just playing a fun activity enjoyed by all but although it isn’t full time but like every other job he still has to make sacrifices.
