Mock Interview Reflection
Today Lusi and I had a mock interview with Vanessa. Before the interview, we shook hands and briefly introduced ourselves, it is important to be polite and respectful. The interviewer asked us some questions, like, “why did you choose this clinic over the others?” “Where will you be five years from now?” The questions may be more about how much we know about the company, and some may be about personal ability. Be open to saying, “sorry, I am not good at it, but I will try my best.”
Mr Graham Silverthorne said, “an interview is like a drama performance”, standing in front of people who don’t know you can bring out the best in you. Be natural and generous. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, apologize sincerely if you are wrong, no one will embarrass you. Smile and self-confidence are very important. Don’t be nervous, don’t be paranoid, you may feel like people around you is looking at you in a funny way, but know that the more you hear, see and think, the less you say. Always have a sense of “this is me” and “I’m good enough”.
Client Work Final Reflection
Personal Statement
In my old house, there was a pile of chairs for entertaining guests and relatives, but they were not often used by adults, their greatest use was only known by my brother and me. When I was a child, I always had all kinds of strange ideas in my mind after watching cartoons. We would build a castle🏰or a monster👹with chairs. We acted with what we built, we imagined scenes, stories. Sometimes we built a house and covered it with sheets, got in, hung torches, it was dark but warm and felt completely safe there. At that time, I was always the hero, taking down monsters to protect the castle.
Now those chairs are gone, but the imagination and happiness still remain in my memory, always remind me, no matter how far I go, somewhere or someone always there for me. The very beginning mind itself is the most accomplished mind of true enlightenment. The very beginning mind told me that I have to be strong enough to protect things I hold tight.
Understanding of respiration
Respiration is a process of release energy.
The powerhouses of cells- mitochondria, they break down nutrients(glucose, oxygen) when they go in, and then, create energy(carbon dioxide, water, ATP) for the cell. As we can see, respiration happens in mitochondria.
The equation of respiration: C6H12O6 + 6O2 → 6CO2 + 6H2O
If we reverse the equation, it becomes the equation of photosynthesis: 6CO2 + 6H2O + light energy = C6H12O6 + 6O2
Any process in the body that requires energy needs respiration, and we did an experiment which represents the process of respiration.
- Get a syringe, and put some glucose(already reacted with air, it shows: C6H12O6 + 6O2) in it.
- Cover it with clay, make sure there won’t be oxygen get in during the experiment.
- Get an empty tube.
- Put syringe into the empty tube straightly with clay in the button.
- Fill the tube with hot water.
- Observe what is happening in the tube.
Result: There are bubbles coming out after the syringe enter hot water, the volume of things inside the syringe increase from 3 to 4.
Conclusion: Those bubbles contain gas, which is carbon dioxide. The number changed because there’s water inside the syringe. The experience shows us, C6H12O6 + 6O2→ 6CO2 + 6H2O.
What are your thought on the uses of failure?
The most important quote from the resource:
The ugly and wonderful truth about middle school says, is that” failure is not an if proposition, it’s a matter of when.”
How might this thinking connect with one of your courses/services/activities this year.
You cannot be successful all the time, always be ready to face up to difficulties. At the same time, do not give up after failure, may be the next step is success.
