Reflection #6

Taekwondo Update 6, Demonstration (07/01/20)

LO4-Show commitment and perseverance in CAS experiences. Students can articulate the stages from conceiving an idea to executing a plan for a CAS experience or series of CAS experiences.

LO7-Recognise and consider the ethics implications of choices and actions

Out of all my CAS experiences thus far, I feel that Taekwondo is probably the one that I was most committed to, as it was a challenging process to maintain and learn all of the steps, especially since it was my first time doing it after 3 years. During the different lessons in Taekwondo, we had to show the class our repeating techniques and prove how we have mastered the techniques individually. Also, closer to the end, we had to learn some Korean phrases while punching, blocking, or kicking. This allows me to focus on my mental health, while at the same time understand the ethical implications Taekwondo has in the community. I also, improved my self-confidence throughout the classes, as I was originally feeling a bit worried that I would not be able to remember all the steps after 3 years, but I felt that I was successful in doing so.
