First few weeks of Grade 11

Since the start of Grade 11, I have changed one of my subjects(HL Art) to HL Geography, which I am really happy about since I’ve had 4 classes of Geography so far and I am really enjoying it. I am feeling pretty good about Grade 11 so far in most of my subjects, I really enjoy all my HL’s but I am kind of struggling with Ab Initio Spanish as languages are not my forte and I missed an important lesson a week ago. Some of the classes that were pretty uncomfortable to be in an quite awkward to are not starting to be better as people are more open to each other as well so it makes the class more enjoyable. I think that to help me with learning a new language I do need to get tuition so I do have to look into that in order to not fall behind as Ab Initio courses are pretty face paced and I’m already not very good at learning new languages. I have been taking a lot of notes in separate notebooks for all my subjects, mostly my HL’s, to prepare for the future when I need to revise on past topics, so I feel good about my note taking right now.

First Week

During the first day of IB yesterday, I have gotten a chance to get back into school mode and meet many new people, giving me a bit of insight to the next two years here for IB. During yesterdays assembly, it was highlighted that we now have much more responsibility as ‘white shirts’ as we are now going to be viewed as role models for the grades below. This comes with having to manage and organize our time and work very well, which is something I think I will need to work on.

With the upcoming EE’s, IA’s and CAS, organization and time management will be a very important factor in getting them done on time, and good quality. But overall I am excited and nervous too to start the new year 🙂
