Generation. Education. Period.

About

Generation. Education. Period. (G.E.P) is a focus group with three overarching goals: raising awareness about period poverty, working to end menstrual shaming, and promoting sustainable sanitary products. The issues we address are important because countless women around the globe experience this, regardless of geographic location or even socio-economic status. We have partnered with Freedom Cups, a business in Singapore that sells menstrual cups and also donates them in Lesser Economically Developed Countries (LEDCs). For every menstrual cup bought, one is donated in an LEDC. Menstrual cups are medical-grade silicone and can be reused for 15 years. We now have Freedom Cups in our school shop and are hoping to grow this partnership further.

We have several projects running within our school community, our Singapore community, as well as internationally. Our meetings allow students to have hands-on experience as they work in small groups and engage with various stakeholders on projects to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These include No poverty SDG 1, Good Health and Well-being SDG 3, Quality Education SDG 4, Gender Equality SDG 5, and Responsible Consumption and Production SDG 12.
