I joined this service out of curiosity and the intriguing name. I haven’t hear of it before and neither have I heard about the humans of New York, the book that inspired this service to come to life. When I joined the service interviewing people who you don’t know seemed like a big challenge to me, I am not a very socially open person but in this service I got the skills to build up confidence to talk to new people. Even though I am still learning to apply them in every day life to push my self out of my comfort zone, to be open to meet new people. Another new thing I learned is how much we know about of fellow peers and people who we see everyday. Through the interviews I got to learn new things about my friends, what their life is like and what we don’t get to see on the surface. Overall through this surface I got to push my boundaries and learn new things about my friends that I didn’t know about and that hopefully I will be able to use the skills I learned in my every day life and continue to learn.
