In an article from the New York Times, ‘Do You Get Enough Exercise?’ by Michael Gonchar, the idea of teenagers and exercise is brought up as a great concern. In this day and age, teenagers are seen to be less active and lazy due to their fixation to their mobile devices and social media. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommended that people should get at least 60 minutes of exercise a day. However, a study using GPS trackers to track when teenagers were getting exercise, found that most teenagers got 23 minutes of exercise a day. This raises a major cause for concern. Fewer than 1 in 10 teenagers get the recommended 60 minutes of exercise a day as mentioned in the article.
