LO3 – Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
Soon Hannah and I will be responsible for planning and running a service session. We have been given the story “We’re Going On a Bear Hunt.” After a few sessions where other students lead I have realized that, showing them the story, asking some questions, and giving an active activity after is the best way to keep the children engaged. However, I want to keep in on theme with the “Bear Hunt,” making sure the activities have some relation to finding a bear.
Ideas:
Start with colouring in small groups – watch the video – play a game where everyone has to run from the bears?
Start with colouring – watch the video – go on a “bear hunt” leave footprints on the floor and get kids to follow them to find the bear?
