Stress

In PSE we watched a TED Talk about stress and how it was misinterpreted by the speaker when she first joined the field of studying stress. The misconception was that stress was bad, it increased deaths and health problems, stay away from stress. But then studies came along mentioning how people who have accepted the stress and look at it in a positive way, the health hazards and issues with life do not increase with more stress. I found that really interesting and it backed up some things I have thought before, I believe that stress makes you work harder and influences you to do something. If we look at it like its eating away at me and ignore it, you will just get more stressed. However, if you look at it as an indicator or something positive, motivating you to do something, it’s not as damaging. I understand more about stress now and that if we try to look at stress in a different way, that no matter how stressed I am I know that it is myself making me that stressed if I try to be more positive about the stress I feel it could help me work harder instead of panic and choke.
