Since it is still a circuit breaker, service is commencing online.

This is an opportunity for reflection and collaborative research that we normally won’t do at school.

At school, we usually go straight to our own service roles, taking care of beds, and so on. But online, we must be more collaborative and recognize the benefits of it in order to succeed in remote service. Us grade 11s have to act as mentors for the grade 9s, so last session we asked them to sign up for the mini-research projects they would like to do.

Before the first grade 9 session, grade 11 leaders had to gather and have a conversation about what roles we want to achieve and how could we succeed in this remote service.

It is a shame that my service experience will end this way, but I have learned valuable lessons that I can take to university and hopefully the world. Through this service, I was able to develop a strong interest in environmental sustainability and I am planning on studying agricultural sciences in uni to pursue this goal.
