Hi Ami,
These are some interesting extracts (although you only need one for Fitzgerald in the real thing) and you have a good understanding of them.
However, you are not really engaging with the stylistic techniques that are being used. Right now you are ‘translating’ – looking at individual phrases and decoding their meaning. This is good, but you also need to think about HOW they achieve these effects. Rather than looking at individual lines, think about patterns (e.g. the consistent use of polysyndetic listing in Fitzgerald, Duffy’s use of sexual puns), explore these ideas, and then exemplify them through one of the examples like you have done.
