SELF-DEFENSE KICKBOXING: CAS REFLECTION 1

I recently started a self-defense kickboxing lesson. This is mainly to improve my physical fitness (stamina, agility, speed) but also to help me keep safe if ever in a vulnerable situation. I’ve never participated in such an activity and found it difficult to adapt to as there are so many niche aspects to martial arts. Nonetheless, I’m doing this activity with a supportive group of individuals who had started this activity before me and are supporting me through my, seemingly, neverending doubts and challenges. Through collaborating with them and seeing their experience I feel inspired to push myself as the benefits they’ve gained from this activity are obvious. Self-defense also requires a relentless amount of motivation and dedication. My lesson is Monday after school which is rather tedious as the school day itself is tiring. But, the satisfaction I gain from attending the class is worth it. Additionally, due to being a beginner among some experienced individuals requires focus. I often take longer to learn new moves but have to be resilient in order to get it perfect.
