Here is the results of the Via Strengths test I’ve took recently, and I’m surprised to find that there has been some changes since the end of G8. My top 5 strengths has been:
1: Love of learning
Mastering new skills, topics, and bodies of knowledge, whether on one’s own or formally; related to the strength of curiosity but goes beyond it to describe the tendency to add systematically to what one knows.
2: Love
Valuing close relations with others, in particular those in which sharing & caring are reciprocated; being close to people.
3: Perspective
Being able to provide wise counsel to others; having ways of looking at the world that make sense to oneself/others.
4: Prudence
Being careful about one’s choices; not taking undue risks; not saying or doing things that might later be regretted.
5: Self-Regulation
Regulating what one feels and does; being disciplined; controlling one’s appetites and emotions.
I think this is a pretty accurate projection about who I am as a person, and the strengths that I have. I believe that these strengths represent who I am, how I live through my life. I can recall using such strengths often, for example, love of learning is a strength quite useful for myself when I hold the identity of a student. I dedicate quite a bit of my time to maintain good, close relationships with my friends and family, although I may not be that person with a flock of friends I always go around with. I provide somewhat wise counselling to my friends, give them advice and support the best I can. I think prudence and self-regulation has a close connection; prudence is a strength I use to regulate and manage myself.
I am not entirely sure about how I can bring out more of these strengths. I’ve never minded achievements at school, keeping good relationships, providing advice, being careful, and maintaining self-discipline. It has been natural part of myself, although it isn’t set in stone, sometimes other strengths rising up in ranks. I believe that I adapt to the situation I live in, and currently, now 4(5?) weeks into HS, what has been required of me was the lists of strengths above.
