End of Term 1

It is strange how time went by so fast. Now I’m at the end of term 1, almost but not quite halfway through G9. Looking back at my time in HS so far, I would say it wasn’t too bad. At least, better than I’ve expected. Though I am still anticipating the point where everything goes downhill and I panic because studying is too difficult. Hopefully that point never arrives. Anyway, I still like our new G9 community better than our G8 days. When we were discussing about how G8 was, I was almost surprised about the vast majority of the people being aware that it really wasn’t the best it could be. People were judgemental, clique-y, unwilling to welcome others in, etc, etc. I believe that even in that short amount of time, we’ve all matured coming into HS. More people started actually caring about academics, friendship group dynamics and norms are quickly shifting. As I look at how our new community is heading towards, I do wonder how I will participate in it.

I believe that the most I’ve probably contributed to this community comes from being involved in service work, joining Because I am as a focus group and being an active member in it. Although not much has been done otherwise significant enough to mention, I believe that there will be many other opportunities that pose itself. I hope my year ahead would be as bright as what it has been so far.
