As it is the halfway point for the school year, and the service year it is important to write a reflection on my service year so far. After switching services early on in the year, I have been very happy in the music Sound beam peace haven service where we visit a day care center for the elderly in Bedok. It is a very rewarding service because it is very challenging at times. It requires lots of resilience as lots of the people in the daycare center do not speak english, so you have to communicate through hand signals or basic english words which can be frustrating at times. This service also requires the skill of open-mindedness as you have to be open to changing your activities or plans depending on what type of people are at the old folks home and their physical capabilities.
