I think that more than for grade 9, I feel ready for IB in grade 11, because of the research that I’ve done that looks into what I want to do in the future, so I have some very long term goals that I am working to achieve, for example getting into my preferred universities.
Though IB appears to be a scary time based on what I’ve heard from other students that have already done it. But though IB seems scary and tough, one thing that is getting me excited for it is the greater independence and free blocks, and doing subjects of my own choosing. I feel as though this makes my schooling a little more tailored to my own preferences, and this is nice. Additionally, I won’t stress over IB because there have been many who have been stressed and done it before, and done it after. I just feel like I need to accept that this is a part of my life that I have to do, and being scared or stressed won’t help me.
The school has done a decent job at preparing us, along with me talking to other students with some more specific questions. I feel like I now understand how school will work under IB and am ready to begin this journey.
