MINDs Tampines Final Reflection

Reflecting back on my last session working with clients from MINDs Tampines, I realised that I have learnt a lot. Mostly, I learnt about the student’s and my own attitude towards service. After a few weeks of doing the service, it began to feel very repetitive and mundane. After reflecting, I realised that this was not supposed to be a service towards me but rather towards the clients we are helping. I think the idea of who is helping who is very important because we often make service very self-glorifying, but it is important to remember that the reason why we do it is for others. Upon reflection, I know that my energy level definitely dipped in the middle of the season. If I were to redo it, I would try to keep my energy level up throughout the entire duration of the service.
