Analyse the ways in which Shakespeare evokes contradictory feelings towards his characters.

For example, Macbeth is often talked about throughout the book and is perceived as brave, admired, respected person who is treated like an upper-classman. When Lady Macbeth was planning on the killing of Duncan, Macbeth started to feel guilty for what is going to happen and doesn’t know what to do when killing Duncan. The audience would have thought he would have given no mercy after killing Duncan but instantly regrets his action after coming back from the castle showing feelings of sorrow and deep regret. The killing of Duncan just shows how Macbeth is contradicted by being not as manly as he was thought to be.

Comment on the significance of dialogue and ensemble scenes in affecting mood and positioning the audience.

The scene after Duncan was killed and Macduff, Donaldbain, Malcolm, and Lennox found out they accused the guards of the murder and everything was going according to plan for Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. Soon after, not knowing why the King was killed they realized unusual things were happening. Malcolm and Donaldbain then ran away making everyone suspect them. Despite this, Macduff was afraid of Macbeth being crowned king and had suspicions that it was him. This affects the mood of the audience because the audience is clueless whether Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are going to be caught. The audience is put into a position where they already know it is Macbeth and Lady Macbeth which counts as a dramatic irony because the audience knows but not the characters in the story.

(I don’t really understand the question)
