What I plan to do for this year

Grade Ten is exciting for me because it is a new year for me to try out new things with my activities and partaking in different services. Last year I had participated in a global concern called Cancer Awareness and also a college service named TechTinkers. Both of these service experiences were a first for me and I think that I will want to continue doing TechTinkers as I found it to be very enjoyable. Working with technology was interesting and it let me learn a bit more about how they worked. But on the other hand for the global concern Cancer Awareness, I don’t think I want to continue doing it, global concerns are something that requires a lot of passion for the topic and I think that I want to explore this more and try other focus groups or global concerns that I am passionate for. One of these that my friends had suggested to me was BIA. Its a focus group named Because I Am. BIA is a focus group regarding gender rights and its aim is around raising awareness about gender discrimination and I will most likely try to get into this service this year. As for activities last year I had done MUN, Digital Arts Club and even tried out for Badminton. This year I will not be doing MUN or the digital arts club but instead of spending time working on my fitness and also possibly join badminton or track & field.

This year is the second year of my IGCSE academic year and although it is only the first week of school I feel a bit worried about it unsure about how I will be able to perform academically this year. Grade ten has been shown to be a lot harder than grade nine because some of the topics being taught are completely new or more challenging. While last year was still building more on previous years of knowledge and only very incrementally increasing difficulty. Overall I have high hopes for this year and will try my best to succeed.
