EE Final Reflection

It feels like finishing the EE was merely the start of the development of my knowledge and interest for philosophy. While for myself, I have not come to an ultimate answer for the question ‘who should rule?’,  this process has strengthened my political understanding and opinions.  The philosophical knowledge and arguments such as Plato’s Cave theory or Machiavellis view on the relevance of learning from history having opened my mind to alternative ways of thinking about the world we live in.

Looking back, taking on the challenge of writing an EE in a subject I do not take helped me develop outside of the fields I study and apply all the new concepts from political philosophy I have learned to other subjects such as history.  I feel encouraged to expand my research and conduct a comparison of the philosopher king and the prince with rulers such as Stalin to see whether the ideal rulers are perhaps more realist than we think.
