THIMUN Conference at The Hague!

This year, I had the privilege of being able to visit The Hague for their annual THIMUN conference. I was selected to go along with five of my other peers. This was the first time that UWCSEA had been invited to come as we are a relatively new campus. As we went in unknowing of what to expect, except for that THIMUN had much larger committees than we had ever experienced, ranging from at least 100 delegates to more, it was quite intimidating at first as I had never attended a conference with so many delegates in one committee, and having to speak in front of a group that large took adjustment. However, from participating in this conference I feel that I was able to grow as a delegate and also as a person. As I was able to see myself over the course of the week go from someone who was quite shy and nervous to speak in front of a large group to someone who was able to confidently collaborate with the other members of my committee and stand assured to deliver speeches and points of inquiries. In addition to this, I had never visited The Hague before, let alone the Netherlands. I was able to immerse myself in their culture for one week and felt very blessed to be able to visit such a beautiful country. On the Wednesday we were there, we had a half day session and in the afternoon we took the tram from The Hague down to Delft. At Delft, we got to see the classic blue pottery and ceramics. Overall, this was an incredible experience that I learned so much from.
