This year was my 8th year being tutored on the piano. I recently completed my grade 4 Trinity practical and theory exams which I had been working towards for many months. Through playing the piano, I have been able to acquire knowledge about many different genres of music and have had the experience of playing different types of pieces. These music genres have ranged from traditional Southern Italian music, jazz music from the United States and other classical pieces. Practicing and playing the piano has been one of the highlights of my high school experience, and the satisfaction that comes with finally mastering a piece is amazing! By playing the piano, I have learned the notions of hard work, resilience, and most importantly, patience. The piano is an instrument that requires dedication in order to advance yourself, and this has been one of the biggest lessons I have learned. As a result of this, I have been able to reflect this lesson in other aspects of my life in order to succeed.
