For this session, we made playdough with our clients. I think this activity was successful with some clients but not as successful with others. Some clients such as Kenneth really enjoyed making the playdough but most of the clients either didn’t want to get their hands messy or had a short attention span which was making it hard for us to get them to focus on making the dough. From this, I learned to make the activity something simpler and also make it less messy.

Yushun: I don’t think my client really enjoyed making the playdough. I showed my client multiple times to stir the flour or squish the playdough, but she just doesn’t move, so I needed to do some of the work for her. And a lot of times she’s just distracted. Maybe she just isn’t the active type.
Kamila: Today went really well because my client, Kenneth, really liked making the playdough. Though sometimes it would get too sticky for him, he still enjoyed it. In the end, Kenneth liked playing with the final product and made many shapes out of it.
Ada: Today, my client didn’t want to get his hands dirty so didn’t mix it well. He always kept his hands under the table. He loved pouring the water but never stop. That’s why our playdough became too sticky. He got bored as he kept getting distracting on what was happening around him and was never focusing on what he was doing.
