Initiative For Peace- UWC Day- 1000 Peace Cranes
UWC Day on the 21st of September 2017 was the biggest and most important UWC day till yet. One of the main reasons why it was so important was because as a school community, the IFP team helped us to create 1000 peace cranes as after making 1000 peace cranes, we can make a wish.
We got to see the entire school come together, collaborating in peace and harmony in order to reach the end goal of a 1000 peace cranes. Seeing everyone work toward a common end goal, made me feel more motivated towards building peace. I believe that after experiencing this, I think I will overall make me more motivated and dedicated towards peace building.
I feel more connected toward the goal of IFP and I feel more determined to be a peace builder in my everyday life after seeing how easily we can all forget our differences and work together.
This was a great activity and enjoyed by so many different members of the school community. How do you think the activity helped to promote peace in our community? How could we transfer it to other settings to enable others to feel connected?
