Project week to me was something more than CAS, but it was also a variety of learning experiences unique to the system. I visited the village of Cipanas which made me reevaluate my self. Despite the crowded area, the people were happy with their lives and it is easy to understand why. From the vast nature to the kind people, there are many unique and breathtaking aspects unique to the village. Through this experience, I have learned to appreciate my life even more by exploring something that only I can discover. Project week also granted me a chance to grow in confidence and step out of my comfort zone. Communication was a key factor, between my team our NGO and the village.
I got injured again. This time from falling off of a grab scooter and badly scraping my knees, hands, and shoulder. This forcefully stopped me from doing muay Thai once again. The coach who remembered me told me to come, regardless of my injuries to show dedication in order to move up a level. And I did. I went to class 2-3 times a week. I tried participating in most activities I could, but mainly exercises to build up my body strength. I was only able to start muay thai once again in the after two weeks.
One change I discovered was my stamina. From running and push-ups to skip ropes and sit ups, there are various exercises I had to do which helped me boost my stamina. My improvement in stamina is easily recognisable comparing myself to when I had just started to where I am now.
Participating in Kahaani this year for the second time was an experience that I am very grateful for. Being my second time in the dance, I was more comfortable than last year and was able to build on skills that I learnt the year before. In addition to building on my collaboration skills, as Kahaani was an activity where I had to work with other people from the grade in an attempt to step out of my comfort zone. LO6, for example, that deals with ethics, intertwines well with Kahaani. Kahaani works with the Voice of World organisation that helps visually impaired and less fortunate children in Kolkata. In an attempt to raise awareness, funds and tell a story I was able to think about these ethical considerations whilst meeting my goal.
