Participating in the HS Touch Team – LO2/LO5

Reflection 1: LO2

Reflection 2: LO5

Being a part of the HS Touch team has been such an amazing and fun experience. I have met so many new people especially from other grade levels which I would not have been able to meet if it wasn’t for touch. Since starting touch in grade 9 I feel that this year was the touch season where I have made the most progress in terms of my skills and abilities. I have gone from only knowing the simple play ‘A drive’ to knowing and being able to execute more complex plays such as a ‘scoop’ during games. Of course, I couldn’t have done this without my other team members. Touch is a sport that requires excellent collaboration which relates to the fifth learning outcome of CAS. My team members have really helped my progress in touch by always being encouraging and supportive which has given me more confidence in my touch skills. Additionally, we would not be able to execute more complex plays if it wasn’t for everyone putting in 100% effort into coming to the many training sessions and using each game to practice and improve what we learn in training. Overall, I have really enjoyed being a part of the touch team this season and hope to continue playing the sport and further develop my skills next year.
