I knew that my EE would be focused on Barbie and female empowerment because it is a topic that I feel passionate about and would enjoy writing and researching. When talking to my EE supervisor we explored the many different approaches to the topic, as it is quite large. I wanted to address things such as Barbie’s history, its marketing, and public reactions and opinions and in researching I found an abundance of resources. One of my biggest tasks was sifting through my sources to make sure I was only including relevant and reliable resources, especially when researching to find other peoples opinions on Barbie. Organising my research was also quite difficult, as I had to make sure that my notes were clear in what every source is and what I can take from it. After researching thoroughly, I came to the conclusion that rather than chronologically, or in sort of compare and contrast structure, it would be most efficient to organise it thematically.
