I knew from the beginning that I wanted a to do an EE on sustainability, living in one of the most sustainable places in the world, Singapore, it presented a unique opportunity. But also being very technology oriented I wanted to learn about how Singapore implements sustainable technologies and processes towards being a “greener” place. In my initial meeting, my supervisor and I agreed that I needed to first narrow down and focus on a specific area within sustainability. We decided on how Singapore was dealing with clean water, as there is plenty of research on the topic. There is also a lot of room for analysis on the way Singapore makes decisions to do with water, the solutions they have implemented to push towards goals, and how their solutions have worked. This meeting has helped me gather a sense of the type of writing and has given me direction to focus my research.
